In the first two captures we use dummy targets to stand in for the absent character(s). The other character would be captured in a separate take. The actor would be where the dummy is now and the dummy might stand in for the character already captured. If the absent character is moving too much and eye lines are important, someone on the stage might stand in "unsuited."
The animatic is not visible but it is being played during the take. With this technique a crowd of characters with their actions can be built from separate takes.
The stunt captures are very energetic and would have been impossible on the "Voltron" stage. Netter moved walls and bought enough cameras to not only cover the larger stage, but capture actions which would have been lost with the "Voltron" rig.

Alas, they ignored their own experts and these improvements were too late to save the company.
