ANIMATION SKILLS

Cinematography: Shot design. Designed sequences when storyboard was lacking or absent. Represents some of my best shots.
Design: Lightspeed graphic camera, video camera, 60's style radio.
Modeling: Aircraft, Scifi consoles, controls, interiors, futuristic gun, textures…
Animation: Character, Facial(Magpie), vehicle, and mocap enhancement.
Lighting: Photoreal for aircraft. Light to match Apollo photos.
VFX: Particle systems animated object swarms, FX for weapons, rockets, explosions, fire.
Motion Capture: Mocap system research. Concept for micro gravity mocap rig. Onsite video cap at Johnson Space Center. Directed mocap for Robotech 3000, Max Steel promo, and Dan Dare. AD'd mocap on Voltron.
Instructor: Taught, "Broadcast Graphics," "Intro to Animation," and "Intro to Character Animation."
Render Farm: Restarted fallen nodes. Restarted stalled farm.

3D ANIMATOR & MOCAP CONSULTANT John Frassanito and Associates,

   Photo-real aircraft animation and character animation for NASA.
   Reworked a "Lunar Lope" walk cycle using NASA documents and lunar reference footage. Corrected stride rate and keyframe poses. Also terrestrial character walks.

  Researched motion capture systems for simulating micro gravity environments and mundane (terrestrial) character animation. Designed a tri-axial micro-gravity motion capture rig.

 

JUNE - NOV 03 ANIMATION INSTRUCTOR ITT-Tech
Taught "Broadcast Graphics," "Intro to Animation," and "Intro to Character Animation," using 3DS Max and After Effects.

JAN 02 - MARCH 02 MANAGER (Motion Capture and Animation) Jupiter 9 Productions
Production Coordination: Set up and attended bid meetings with post production studios for upcoming IMAX film, "Quantum Quest: A Light Knight's Odyssey." Motion capture consultant.

NOV 2000 - FEB 2001 3D ANIMATOR Foundation Imaging
Animated on Dan Dare episode 8 and directed motion capture actors for selected shots in episode 14. Character blocking, finish lighting, vfx, and digital cinematography. I timed and blocked stunt action motion capture, and directed the actors in the capture sessions. I animated faces and lip synched with Magpie. Broadcast Ch 5 in Britain.

Modeled and animated for Voltron: The Third Dimension. Designed audience attention grabbing shot when story board was incomplete. Modeled for Dan Dare. Directed motion capture for Robotech 3000 promo. On Voltron and Max Steel I provided full time animator assistance to the motion capture director.
